Rene Hulsker started playing the cornet at a young age in his native
The Netherlands. As is typical in The Netherlands, pre-professional music
education takes place largely in clubs that include concert and marching
band settings, and is organized under the auspices of a countrywide accredited
organization.
Rene played in various ensembles in The Netherlands as 1st cornet/trumpet
and solo flugelhorn and was conductor for several years with a “Fanfare”
in The Hague. A “Fanfare” is a Concert Band without the woodwinds,
but with saxophones. Typically the clarinet parts are played on flugelhorn.
He now resides in Rockledge, Fl and plays both in the Central Florida
Winds and the Community Band of Brevard.
